Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Praece (the “Service”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the Praece mobile application or related services. By using Praece, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information: name, email address, profile photo, gender, birth year (used for age-group context only, never published in full), belt rank, gym affiliation, coach handle (for coaches).
- Coach profile content: bio, tagline, specialties, experience, starting price.
- User-generated content: videos you upload, video reviews you record, audio commentary, drawings, and messages exchanged with coaches or students inside an analysis thread.
- Payment-related information for coaches: Stripe account ID for payouts. We do not store credit card numbers; payment data is handled by Stripe under their privacy policy.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: we use Google Firebase Analytics to record events such as sign-up, sign-in, analysis submissions, and analyses completed. These events are linked to your Firebase user ID.
- Crash and diagnostic data: we use Google Firebase Crashlytics to capture crash reports and performance metrics, linked to your Firebase user ID, so we can fix bugs.
- Device information: device model, operating system version, and other technical signals related to recording and playback.
- Push notification token: issued by Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can send you notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Visits to our public web pages
When you open one of our public web pages without being signed in — the praece.app front page, our coach information page at praece.app/coach, our student information page at praece.app/student, the public coach directory at praece.app/coaches, or a coach’s public profile page — we record that the page was opened. This record includes your IP address, the page you opened (for a coach’s profile we record only that it was a coach profile, not which one), the referring page (if any), your browser’s user-agent string, and, where the link you followed carried one, the reference code identifying who shared it with you.
We use this only to measure whether the links we and our coaches share are being opened. To derive an approximate country, we send the IP address to a third-party IP geolocation service (currently ipapi.co), which returns a country code; we do not send them any other information about you.
These records are not linked to any Praece account, are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking, are accessible only to our administrators, and are automatically deleted after 90 days. This applies to our public web pages only — not to the app.
Praece does not use third-party advertising SDKs, does not collect Apple’s Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), and does not track you across other apps and websites.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the Service: matching students with coaches, processing video analysis requests, displaying messages and drawings.
- To send notifications about your activity (new analysis ready, message received, etc.) according to your in-app preferences.
- To improve the Service through usage analytics and to debug crashes.
- To enforce our Terms of Service and respond to reports of objectionable content or abusive users.
3. How We Share Your Information
- With other users of the Service: Coach profiles (name, photo, bio, specialties) are visible to all users browsing the coach directory. Content you upload to an analysis thread is visible to the other party of that thread (the assigned coach for student uploads, the requesting student for coach reviews). Messages are private to the participants of the thread.
- With Google Firebase: We use Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Analytics, and Crashlytics. Data processed by Firebase is governed by Google’s privacy policy and Data Processing Addendum. See firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
- With Stripe (coaches only): For coach payouts, we share the minimum information required for Stripe to onboard the coach as a connected account. See stripe.com/privacy.
- For legal reasons: when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the safety of users.
- In connection with a business transfer: if Praece is acquired or merged, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Account Deletion and Data Retention
You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen inside the app. Deletion permanently removes your login credentials and anonymizes your historical content (analyses, messages, profile fields) so it cannot be tied back to you. Some content may be retained in anonymized form to preserve the integrity of conversations the other party participated in.

5. Children’s Privacy
Praece is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@praece.app.
6. Security
Praece transmits all data over TLS-encrypted connections and stores user content using Firebase’s server-side encryption at rest. Access to user data is gated by Firebase Authentication and per-collection security rules. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
7. International Users
Praece’s servers and processors (including Google Firebase) are located in the United States. By using the Service from outside the United States, you consent to the transfer of your information to and processing of your information in the United States.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email. Your continued use of Praece after a change indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
